My story
I am an illustrator and visual artist living in Ghent. With a background in literature, it should come as no surprise that I am driven by a passion for telling meaningful and compelling stories. Whether commissioned for editorial pieces, cultural projects, or personal explorations, my work invites viewers into quietly immersive worlds where every element has meaning.
I work fast and intuitively.
“I trust the moment and work fast. The speed is important -
I feel like the work remains more alive that way.”
- from my sketchbook notes
My illustrations have been featured in publications such as The Guardian, De Morgen, Scientific American, and The Washington Post. Clients value me for my ability translate atmosphere, mission, and ideas into vivid paintings - sometimes layered, sometimes minimal or whimsical, always precise.
In each project, I attune to both the subject and the client - I aim to capture what lives between the lines. Clients come to me for images that invite reflection, both intellectual and emotional, and a zest for life.
I like to explore the in-between: poetic visuals for clear ideas, and clear images for poetic thoughts. Each drawing becomes a trace - of thought, of story, of experience.
- from studio journal, 2022
Whether it’s a single image or a full narrative series, I create with focus and flow.
